I've a recent bug develop in Safari since the last Catalina upgrade. When I try to delete the data via the prefs/privacy setting some files/cookies remain the next time the browser is launched. Why are some sites able to write cookies that make a mess on my machine like this? Has anyone else noticed this behaviour?

If it's any use to anyone I've noticed the data files mainly appears as 'cache' files, which all appear to delete but then turn into 'cookies' once safari has been shut down and relaunched. Once the files have been labeled as cookies in safari they'll delete ok in mine but it's real a pain remembering.

Sounds like it could be a problem with how safari is writing to disk from active memory though. or a new virus?
