Hi guys,

A colleague from work told me that he passed his weekend trying to solve an issue with his wife’s iPhone 8. They’ve recently moved to a new house and new router was installed.

All of a sudden Safari wasn’t loading pages through the wifi connection. Everything else worked: youtube, news apps, etc. If she used cellular data, safari would work again. They tried chrome with the same result.

Eventually he had to enter the router IP address manually but do you guys have a reason for why this would happen? Sounds like a router issue to me. Would resetting the modem work? He shouldn’t need to manually enter an IP address for safari to work. All other devices work correctly on the WiFi including my own iPhone 6S.

Thanks for any tips

Try resetting network settings on the phone

Settings > General > Reset

All saved WiFi passwords will need to be re-entered.

Also clear history and website data

Settings > Safari
