For some reason, Safari in iOS 15 is super slow on my 13 Pro Max.

I have Wipr, Open in Apollo and Amplosion enabled as extensions on all websites.

I also have iCloud’s Private Relay Beta enabled.

Some websites just take forever to load and I wonder what I have enabled that’s causing these issues. Any ideas?

This would be my first guess. VPNs (or not VPNs like Private Relay) are notorious for slowing connections. Have you tried toggling it off and seeing if your speeds increase?
That has got to be it. Just read a long thread where others were having issues too.

I mean, sometimes it’s taking 10 seconds before anything loads.

Is Private Relay worth these delays? I’ve never used a VPN, I just thought it looked like a cool feature.

It’s still in beta, so I think it WILL be a useful and cool feature. Apple just needs to iron out some of the glitches. Truthfully, while VPNs do often slow connections, there has been cases of them also speeding up connections.

How did everyone set up their location?

General or using a specific country/timezone?

I had the same issue. I turned off private relay and things are much faster.
Mine is the exact opposite. It seems iOS 15.0.1 did something wonky.

Private Relay on - normal speeds
Private Relay off - Hello 1995

Private Relay acts similar to a proxy AFAIK, and some sites don’t like proxies. It’s been OK for me for the most part, although I do have some sites that sometimes freeze up and take forever to load.
