I have an odd Safari on the iPad question. I wanted to test my WiFi connection speed so I opened Safari and typed www.speedtest.net in the Browser and it opens iTunes and takes me to the Speedtest App for the iPhone.

There's nothing wrong with that but I don't want an App I just wanted to use a web site address like I can do on a Laptop or Desktop.

My Question: Does anyone know how to stop iTunes from opening and just using a web site for the quick and occasional test?

TIA

Speedtest.net uses flash, so unless you find another site that doesn't use flash you have to use an app.

The only way to test the iPad is with the iPhone version of SpeedTest.net. That's why it takes you to the iTunes Store.

I've used the iPhone version to test various connections with my iPad (and iPhone).

Ok, thanks. I did not think about the Flash issue so that makes sense now.

I use SpeedTest HD on my iPad :)
Yeah, I know the OP asked for a web based test but I use this app.
