*Issue Occurs On Safari, Firefox & Chrome

Hi All,

UK based - I am unable to open Safari - upon starting it, as it tries to load up, I get a spinning beach ball & "Safari is not responding". This started to happen recently within the last two weeks. If by chance, it does load occasionally then nothing works - unable to load any web pages & progress bar gets stuck loading.

When I try on Firefox or Chrome, these browsers load up but pages do not load & progess bar just gets stuck. I have tried switching off/on multiple times as well as multiple restarts. Been on Google/YouTube for help but to no avail.

My internet connection is fine & stable -around the house, I get WiFi Speeds of anything between 300mb to 550mb. In my outhouse at the rear of my garden I get speeds of between 70mbs to 100mbs. I also get very decent speeds on my iPhone.

Despite this, when pages are trying to load, sometimes I get messages saying "You are not connected to the internet" or "Cannot find server" or "Page timed out".

As my internet works perfectly, I can only assume it is software/setting issue somewhere since it is happening on all 3 browsers? I know there is a Hardware test for Macs but is there a Software test I can try?

Trying to open a private window on Safari as Apple suggests also does not work - progress bar stuck.

Safari/Firefox/Chrome work fine on my 2015 rMBP - so this confirms internet cannot be the issue? DNS Servers are 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4

I have also just checked & it seems that the mail app is also affected - all my email accounts show as not connected?

I would really appreciate if anyone can please kindly help resolve this as it is driving me nuts!

Thanks Kindly!

Hi All,

Managed to sort out the problem (at least for now!) - basically in Network Preferences, removed "WiFi" & then added it back & presto, internet as back working again - how very, very strange & no info from Apple on doing this - how would anyone know?

Many Thanks!
