I cannot get safari on OSX to remember my login and password for this site!

The drop down asking to remember password for this site never appears on OSX.

But if I log in on my ipad the drop down appears no problem!

This also happens on other forums I visit!

OSX won't remember the password IOS will.

WHY?!

I don't know why you're having the problem, but if it doesn't bother you to just stay logged in...when you login check the "Remember Me" box.

I don't mind doing that but every now and then I reset safari.

And every other forum/website still has it's passwords saved so I just log in.

But not this one for some reason?! :D

Little things like this really bug me till I find a solution!

Well, I know I'm not supposed to reveal this...but MacRumors is a VERY exclusive site.

Your problem could be a gentle hint.

Don't let on I mentioned this...sorry to be the one to have to tell you.:(

 :p ;)

Good job I am thick skinned!

I have just found a 3rd forum OSX safari is NOT asking me to save the password on!!

All 3 are vbulletin! That can't just be a coincidence?!

Are they blocked by OSX I wonder?!

Nope, mine work fine after reseting safari. :)

Could you try deleting the password in prefs and try reseting again.

If the password was saved in the past it will always be there even after a reset.

But I cannot save the password!

I think this has happened after an update.

1) Log out of the website.
2) Fill in your login details but do not click the button to login
3) Refresh the page

Dont suppose you know how to stop safari refreshing pages when you go back one?! :D

This one is a bit of a pain.

If you use any safari extensions (especially things like an adblocker) disable them and see if it helps, then enable them one at a time to see if you can work out which are causing the problem.

Though it can be down to other things, such as if the website specifies not to cache or javascript running on page load.
