Safari: Pause downloads?

is there no way to pause downloads in safari and resume?
i don't want to install speeddownload.

hope they'll bring this feature in next safari upgrades.
 
In the 'Downloads' box, there is a "pause/resume" button next to what you're downloading.

this doesn't seem to work, I was just downloading webkit nightly with safari, I needed bandwidth to do something fast, so I clicked that button ("x") at about half of the downloading, it stopped! when I later click that "resume" button, it started from 0kb all over again??

I didn't even realize this before, lol not that nice with my slow internet at home...
