Are there any free plugins that disables auto play of videos in safari? That **** is so annoying.

You don't need a plug-in. Just go to Safari-->Preferences-->Websites-->Never AutoPlay.

Expound more, because this menu combo doesn't exist in iOS Safari, and everything I've turned off related to auto-play doesn't make a lick of difference. I'm really sick of it too and whoever out in the world thought it was a good idea is an idiot.

for iOS: Settings-->Accessibility-->Motion-->Auto Play Video Previews (set to Off/uncheck/toggle is white)

The only time I have trouble with videos playing on my phone is if I click on them as I am scrolling. If I can avoid placing my finger on the video as I scroll they don't start.

At the bottom of Accessibility, there is an option for Per-App Settings. You can customize Safari to be Off. Maybe try that and see if it overrides/boosts the main setting?

Don’t use safari then. try a different web browser, im sure there are some that don’t auto play.

So, are there any PLUGINS for safari (max 3 bucks) that blocks auto playing videos?

Well shoot. I bought this, and it does work as described. However, it doesn't support 4K resolutions.

Is there any shortcut or way I can quickly toggle this extension "off"?

Yes. You can just delete the app and re-download it when you need it again.

Yes, all you need to do is delete the app (maybe offload I don’t know if that works or not) and it will turn off. Re download it the next time you need it.

That’s the hammer approach :)

I only want to disable it (temporarily) when watching a 4K video. Before anyone says ‘you can’t tell the difference between 1080p and 4K”…. Well I use the Pro Display XDR, and the difference is substantial.
