Has anyone else experienced that when you use Safari then once in a while the progress bar seem to pause for several seconds (sometimes longer) when accessing a website. It does not seem to have anything to do with the connection itself, because when you load another page (in a new tab) it will load just fine. Sometimes all you need to do is to reload and the website will be loaded. This happens on both my MacBook Air 2012 and my iMac 2011 running 10.8.2 and latest build of Safari.

More and more sites are javascript hogs. There might be only 1k of text, 250k of images and a megabyte or more of javascript for the site itself and all the ad servers it links in. All this javascript bloat is killing the internet. I suggest using an ad blocker as it will stop the lion's share (no pun intended) of this useless stuff.

But why does it also happen on simple google searches??

There are so many places between you and google, including both endpoints, that it is impossible to accurately answer that question.

You can either hire a specialist and have them come to your house and troubleshoot the connections, or you can just realize that everything in life is not always going to be instant.
