so on my macbook i typed a command into terminal which forced safari to open any external links i click on in a new tab. I think this was it:

defaults write com.apple.Safari TargetedClicksCreateTabs -bool true

now i'm trying to do it with my iMac because i love this feature, but for some reason it doesnt work. is there something else i need to do? i just open terminal, type it in and restart safari. am i missing something?

What version of Safari are you using? With Safari 3.1, launching Terminal and entering:

defaults write com.apple.Safari TargetedClicksCreateTabs -bool true

worked. In Safari 4, it doesn't. Hopefully, they'll fix that soon!
