Safari Question

When I click into the address bar in Safari, it takes 3 clicks to highlight the entire line, so that I may type a new address. However, when I seem to click the extreme upper or lower portion of the address bar it highlights whole original address so it does not require 3 clicks.

Is there a easier way to highlight the entire address bar, besides the 3 clicks, then searching to find the extreme upper or lower part of the address bar?
