Hi, I've had an iPod Touch for three days now (8GB, 1.1.4). I've used it in three different locations with a WiFi network: Home, Work, and a friend's house.
The only place Safari ever crashed (repeatedly) was at this friend's house.
I've been reading various threads on this issue here and elsewhere - and strangely, no one mentioned that it could have something to do with a specific WiFi network.
All three networks are WEP protected and I could access the networks without a problem (knowing the passwords of course). Just that at this friend's house Safari kept quitting - no matter what website, no matter that I didn't do anything else at the same time (like listening to music).
So if it is the network - what can one do about it? Anyone has any idea?
I hope this might also help others because I'm convinced this is the reason why this is happening to many people. It's just strange that no one ever mentioned this. Instead people keep saying that the memory of the iPod Touch is the problem. But I'm loading various websites here at my home without any problem whatsoever - and listening to music.
The only thing I can think of is that my friend's router could have an additional MAC-address access protection (on iPod Touch now called WiFi address). He isn't sure about it. Maybe his router has it but it is not working properly - thus confusing Safari?
Would be great if anyone could help with this.
