I've recently wiped my MBP and gone back to ML. After shutting the machine down once or twice it's started taking me to the mobile Twitter page instead of the normal Twitter.

It doesn't do this for any other site. How do I sort this out?

It's because your Safari version is too old: from Twitter Support:

Using twitter.com on Internet Explorer or Safari

If you log in to twitter.com on the following browsers, you will be directed to see mobile.twitter.com.

  • Internet Explorer, version 9 or earlier
  • Safari, version 6 or earlier
Not all twitter.com features are compatible with older versions of Internet Explorer or Safari. In order to provide the most stable experience within the browser, we redirect users to mobile.twitter.com.

If you would like to use the standard version of Twitter from your browser, we recommend upgrading your browser to a more recent version.
