I sometimes read the articles, and comments on news.com.au, these articles and comments are sometimes quite long. The problem is that the page will reload every ~3 mins. The result is I might be halfway through an article and the page will reload and go back to the top of the page, so I have to scroll back down and find where I was up to, which can get really annoying if I'm reading a long thread of comments after a story.

Does anyone know If I can stop safari from automatically reloading these pages?

cheers

They have a countdown timer spread across a few Javascript files and do reload the page periodically (that would be to serve you fresh ads, and nominally to display new comments). With a quick check, the site seems to work okay with Javascript disabled, you may want to give that a shot.
