How do I do this?

Basically I want to type in something like, "macr..." and have Safari put the rest in. But it doesn't, it only works if I put "http://macr...".

I've tried to modify the bookmark's URL to take out the "http://" and just have "macrumors.com" but it keeps adding in the "http://".

Is there a way to get rid of it?
