Safari saving passwords

I have a question but it's a little hard to explain:

At university, we have wi-fi that blankets the campus. In order to use it I need to direct my browser to a login site and enter my username and password (which happen to be long). Is there a way to save these so that they autofill? Or better yet, an app to do this for me automatically?

I'm not really sure on this one, but maybe you can set it up as a VPN connection.

Lastpass free version is good to go. you can try that I used the free version and it was great. I never felt like upgrading to premium version.
