Safari search engine preference

Hope someone can help me because this is driving me nuts. All of a sudden Safari thought that I wanted to use Bing over Google. And I can't change it back. I selected Google in the preferences and the status bar on an empty page in Safari says 'search google or enter an address', but when I search something, I get results from bing.
How can I get rid of Bing? I'd be happy to delete off of the computer entirely. I don't ever want to use bing. Ugh

Never mind, I found the solution on another website. Malware genieo was causing the problem.
