Safari Security Threat - Is This Remedied in Safari 3?

Hi Folks!

I just read about a pretty serious security concern in Safari and I was wondering if anyone knows if Apple has addressed this issue in Safari 3? They don't address it, in any case, on the Apple.com/Safari page.

I can't upgrade to Safari 3 since I'm still running Panther...I'm waiting for Leopard before I upgrade.

I just tried the test case to prove Safari is affected and my copy of Safari 3 beta is still affected by the problem apparently.

Thanks for checking that out...argh. It seems like such a simple thing to fix...do I really need to spend $30 because Apple isn't addressing this? Argh.

Why would you spend $30? There are numerous other browsers in the market, which, for the better part are free. If Firefox or Safari arent good enough for ya, you could try opera, or some other browser.

Well...A) I really like Safari B) the $30 is not for the browser, but for Passwd1 or whatever it's called - a well-encrypted password application C) I could try Opera, I suppose...but what a headache! I mean...apart from this issue (which is actually a pretty serious issue), Safari is a great browser!
