Safari - showing favorites on iPad now

Just installed Yosemite on my rMBP, and it's running very well. System performance is quite snappy, especially with the browsers.

But I just noticed that the favorites bar is always displayed on my iPad, which is running IOS8.0.2. How can this be? One of the "features" of IOS8 was to AUTOHIDE the Favorites bar, but now it's always there. Because I installed Yosemite on my Mac.

Anyone else notice this?
