Safari shows beachballs on rMB

After upgrading to El Capitan, my rMB (2015) has been performing great. But recently I'm getting a lot of beachballs in Safari: when I scroll, mouse over a link, type something. Always beachballs for a second. Anyone else experiencing it? Any idea what to do?
