Safari shows unknown characters

Hi, ever since I installed El Capitan, my browser sometimes shows unknown characters on various area's of the page, such as e.g. the Facebook user name. (See screenshot) This is NOT a setting in Facebook because the user name is displayed correctly on my Mac Air and on iPhone, etc, but is displayed wrong on my iMac desktop.

Can anyone help me solve this?
