Hi,

I have been using Safari for years and never faced any problem, but since I've upgraded to High Sierra, Safari sometimes (I can't figure out exactly why) stops to work. It seems like the Internet connection is down, but in fact it is not (I can browse normally with Chrome or Firefox).

And it is impossible to use Safari again unless I restart my Mac. After the restart, Safari works fine, but it is just a matter of hours and Safari stops to work again.

I have been searching on forums to find a solution, and I found out an old thread - not related to High Sierra, but talking about a very similar problem - that suggested to disable the DNS prefetch in Terminal:

defaults write com.apple.safari WebKitDNSPrefetchingEnabled -boolean false

I tried it and, in fact, it worked. I have been browsing for some days and Safari seems to be ok now. But I would like to know if someone has faced the same problem and there is another fix that does not involve to disable the DNS prefetch.

Thanks!
