Just discovered this by accident. If you hold onto the tab and drag it all the way to the right side of the screen, it will split view that tab. You can go back to single view by dragging the tab back.
Sorry if this trick has been posted somewhere already :)

This is a new feature of iOS 10 my friend. It is pretty awesome, but also very old news.

I know you can hold down a link to split view, but never saw anybody mention split viewing the tab that was already open.

Makes sense! Its not very talked about. Been using this neat little feature since the Develper Betas and it has been awesome. Currently using it now!

I guess you had all that time to play around with it. I just updated my devices few days ago :)

Thanks for sharing!

Can someone explain how you set a tab on iPad Pro? I have no idea what to and searching for an answer turns up nothing. Thanks.

Don't understand the question.
"you hold onto the tab and drag it all the way to the right side". I know it sounds stupid but they say drag the "tab", is this the URL of the page you are on, or is their some specific way you create a tab from the page you are on? Are they talking about opening say 6 different websites and one of THEM is a tab? I try grabbing the web page I am on in Safari and can't drag it anywhere. NEVER mind, I figured it out. Thanks.

Oh, thanks! I also knew about Safari split view, but never picked up the dragging trick. (And I search for that kind of thing.) I wouldn't have considered that old news at all.
