Sometimes when I open safari, it stalls my computer for literally 2-4 minutes! It is extremely annoying. During that time, I can't open any apps, can't relaunch finder, can't force quit safari. I am basically stuck waiting for it to get itself out of being stalled.

Any ideas why this might be happening?

seems like your out of RAM (memory)!

can you do this for me?

open up "activity monitor" which can be found in applications->utilities. then when that opens up hit the "memory" tab, and read out all that information.. should help.

I will leave that open and try to monitor when it happens again. I have 4gb of RAM, and this usually happens when only safari, mail, and maybe chrome are open together. Right now it shows that I am using 60MB in Safari, and 1.5GB total.
