secs then carrys on with going to the address.Ive reset safari done the obvious
stuff used onyx, anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

I've had/have this problem too - I just think it's a "Safari" thing!

That's why I use Firefox!! ;)

url bar color progress is not accurate, you should not pay too much attention on it.

are you saying EVERY TIME safari will not display content for exact same time (15 sec or whatever else)?

thanks for the reply cleven, what im trying to say is every time i enter a fresh
address,click on a link,go back/forward pages,post a reply to your question,
it stalls at the same place sometimes say a couple of seconds up too around
15 secounds, but always in the same place

edit now even posting this reply

and now going page to the main forum page

this probably has little to do with page loading, more to do url resolving etc. and This is the "mysterious slowness" I mentioned about safari/webkit. It does not render back/forward history as fast as firefox/opera in many cases, this forum is a classic example, firefox, opera render the page instantly when you click back/forward, while safari /webkit always tries to "load" something...

Are you using leopard? I heard quite a few complains about safari "delay" for no good reasons (DNS problem was cleared already), its getting very strange.

Other than back/forward, this forum sometimes is slow. Good way to tell is to try it in other browsers (firefox, or opera)

Once again thanks clevin, yes im using 10.5.2 ive tried with other browsers
but it seems mainly to be a issue with safari. My only thought although you
mention DNS cleared already is to clear the cache would this work

dscacheutil -flushcache

EDIT:nope that didnt work

Simple Solution for Safari 5 stall issue

Open System Preferences > Network > Advanced> click DNS
and add 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220
click ok thats it. Problem is solved.
