Its probably just a box check, but how do I stop this:

When I click 'restore' after multiple tabs have been quit, the 'home' window stays open and so I have to close it.

I don't want that any more.

Any help?

Pull up Safari's preferences (General section) and set the "New windows open with:" dropdown to "Empty Page." That should do the trick. Obviously, you'll be left with a blank page if you choose not to restore when firing up Safari, but I'm guessing that's acceptable.
