Safari suggested a password (saved to iCloud) for website, accepted yet not saved?

Hi there.

This has happened a few times and I cannot figure out why.

I am signing up to a website, use the suggested password, and yet when I got back to the website or look around in the Preferences->Passwords option or indeed the iCloud keychain app, I see no reference to the password.

Frustrating. Can anyone explain this to me?
