The text in safari all of the sudden looks like this. Any ideas why? Looks like crap.

I don't know if any of these will work but they might:

1. Click on the "View" menu and hover over the "Text Encoding" menu item until the list of text types pops out--then select the "Default" option
2. Relaunch Safari
3. Open the "Disk Utility" Application and repair permissions on the hard drive patrician that Safari is running on
3. Log out and then back in
4. Check for any software updates
5. Restart the computer

If none of these suggestions fix the problem then try downloading the TinkerTool Application and see if the system texts are different then they should be.

Looks fine for the most part... this site appears ok. Its almosts as if it only looks like that if the font is left up to the system. Firefox and IE display the same pages just fine... its only Safari.

I have the same thing

and mine is worse with the fonts it choose. I got my Aliens font in safari, and my metalica font in FireFox. I will try the thigs listed by people, but could you give a step by step for firefox now too.

thanks

Donny

Safari has the default fonts in place.... I have never made any changes there. It still looks really bad. :(

Did you repair permissions yet like GodBless suggested?

Sure have... Repaired permissions. What if i remove Safari's global library folder? In theory it should create a new one.

EDIT: Does not seem that Safari has one. Only in your home Library folder... but it happens for all users so I doubt that will fix it. Plus I need all that stuff.

is it the std Safari, or one of the daily builds?

maybe redownloading Safri will fix it and change back to default anything that could have "windows word here" corrupted!

Have we tried the "Reset Safari" option yet?

Are there any plugins installed? Saft? SafariStand? PithHelmet? Anything like that?

I have done the following...

Reset Safari
Repaired Permissions
Deleted ~/library/preferences/com.apple.safari.plist
Everything is fully up to date
This is My Mac as listed below if you need specs.

A couple of other things to try:
- Restart
If still not working:
- From Font Book: Resolve duplicates and verify fonts and files
- Clean font cache (easiest using something like OnyX or MainMenu)
- Restart
