Hi,

I'm running Ventura 13.4.1 and Safari 16.5.1, i.e. the latest versions at the time of writing this thread.

When I uploaded files from my Mac to the web in Safari, the pop-up window allowing to browse the files on my disk used to keep the presentation settings I had previously configured. In my case, it's grouping by file type and presenting by columns. The Finder app is also configured this way. Each time that pop-up window was invoked later on, it retained those settings. Great.

Now, it's no longer the case. Each time this pop-up window is invoked, it reverts back to some default settings and I have to reconfigure them. As soon as it's closed and invoked again to upload a new item, settings are again lost. Each week-end, I have to upload a bunch of things in several stages, so this now makes the whole browsing/uploading experience a hassle.

How can I revert back to the previous behaviour and make it retain its presentation settings for good?

Thanks.

By chance, is there a Terminal cmd line I could use to tweak this?

Not a fix for your problem, but perhaps it helps:
I stopped caring about the view of the upload window because I already have a Finder window open with the necessary files. I then simply drag the files from the Finder window onto the upload pop-up window and it automatically enters the correct directory and selects the files.

Never thought of this. Will try, thanks.
