Safari is using a ridiculous amount of RAM right now. It grown to about 200MB, I've noticed it get over 250MB sometimes. The most windows I have open is one window with 5 tabs. Why does Safari take up so much memory? I only have 768MB of RAM and I usually only have 12MB free because of this.

I don't know the reason for it, but Safari does seem to be a resource hog. I have 6 tabs open and it's using 483MBs of RAM (out of my 1.5GB of system RAM). I think the only real solution people have found is to restart Safari every once in a while. Mine's been running for a day or so to get to this point:
