Hey all,

I just noticed on my iPhone 14 Pro Max (running iOS 18.4.1) that Safari can now summarise web pages (only for some pages, not all) within the Reader view.

Try this link for yourselves: https://recyclingnearyou.com.au/clothing/GosnellsWA

According to Apple (support article), this feature is meant to be part of Apple Intelligence, and officially requires an A17 Pro or M-series chip — yet my A16 device is showing it.

It’s clear that some Apple Intelligence features are capable of running on the 14 Pro Max — and possibly even on older models (not that I am deeply interested in using Apple Intelligence 😋)

I’ve noticed this too, on my iPad 11. I don’t know what to make of it, other than maybe someone glitched the product differentiation and we actually could use Apple Intelligence on our disallowed devices, if they let us. 🤷‍♂️
