Why is it that Safari doesn't support What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) editing on eBay and MSN Groups?

This has been the main blocking point from switching my friends to OS X from Windows. Many of them use eBay and MSN Groups. When you enter a posting on the forum, on a Windows PC you see the font editor, smileys, add pictures, etc... on Safari, those options aren't available.

The same goes with eBay. Windows users get a WYSIWYG editor to list their item while Macintosh users have to input regular text or known HTML commands

Will this be fixed in Safari 2.0 or is there a way around this issue?

Here's an example from a forum:

Safari and the ever present problems

I am running 10.3.9 and Safari has never been slower and the spining
cursor is worse than even. I am making a transition to Firefox where the spinning cursor, slow loading does not take place. I have given up on
Safari.

... also of notice, MSN groups doesn't allow Macs to participate in MSN Chat. Doesn't this just smell of an anti-trust lawsuit?
