I feel like the edges across the OS are too rounded off in general, but the Safari window just bugs me. Does anyone else find the corners in the screenshot below just...weird?

it's different, that's all. and you get used to it. after all, how much time do you spend looking at the corners of windows as opposed to the content in those windows?

one theory about this (it's been suggested on this forum), is... it's in advance of the next gen macs, which may have really-slight bezels. maybe?

either way, apple seems to think it's correct, and, as always, we adapt (or find a workaround).

yeah but why the same window when moved to full screen all of a sudden gets square corners?

All Tahoe windows have the same corner radius. When full screen, there isn't a window any more and every screen pixel is used.

Apparently they're doing Windows 11 hackery to achieve this, so likely won't be fixable by replacing assets 🤮

For some reason the extremely rounded corners don't work well with the window control (traffic light) buttons. Something about their mutual alignment doesn't match.
not sure what you mean. if i click on a traffic light, i get the appropriate response. what's happening for you?

I’m talking about how their placement looks weird in combination with the extremely rounded corners. Something about their mutual appearance doesn’t quite match. Maybe the traffic light / window controll buttons should be increased in size to better match the bigger curve of the window corners. Idk can’t quite put my finger on it.

Are we not gonna talk about how Safari now shows a tab bar even with only one tab open? This used to be one of the best features of Safari to me that no other browser had: there was no tab bar if you only had one tab open - a good way to not waste vertical space. Now even that is gone.

Check the view menu and make sure that "Always Show Tab Bar" is NOT checked.

Safari with the feature checked:
