I'm running 10.12.5 on a late 2015 27" iMac and I'm having trouble trying to get Safari to maintain the window size that I set it to. What happens is this:

Set Safari to preferred dimensions
Close Safari
Open Safari - it is still at the size that I set it

Open a new tab - this makes the Safari window slightly taller (by the height of the Tab title bar)
Close the tab
Close Safari
Open Safari - the Safari window is now slightly shorter (by the height of the tab title bar)
Open a new tab, close the tab, close Safari and open it again.
The height of the window is now shorter yet again.
Rinse and repeat - the Safari window gets shorter and shorter.

Conversely, if you close Safari while the new tab is still open, it will be taller next time you open it. If you keep opening a tab then closing Safari, the window keeps getting taller and taller, each time you open Safari.

All I want is for Safari to keep at the size that I set it, regardless of whether I have opened new tabs or not and regardless of the number of tabs when I close it.
