safari wmv link behavior

hi all
i just bought a new imac (yay) but safari is acting strange
on my old powerbook when i hit a link of a wmv file windows media player would open and the video would stream... but now, these same files all download to the desktop instead. i cant for the life of me figure it out. any ideas?

Media Player for Mac doesn't run on Intel machines. Could that be it? Instead, we've got Flip4Mac.
