My friend has a white MacBook and he deleted Safari awile ago and realized it was a mistake. Well I was trying to help him and downloaded the public beta and for some reason (with 48.9 GB of free space) it says "You cannot install Safari 3 Beta on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirments for this update.".

I have had a iBook G4 for three years and just got a 17" MBP and have never seen this problem before. I dont know if he deleted some extra stuff but I cant seem to find a awy to fix this. I am not a Mac expert but I have troubleshot a lot of things with ease before (why I love Macs) but this is stumping me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. He uses Firefox right now so he is not dying but having safari would be nice.

Thanks
Joe

Your friend should be able to reinstall Safari 2 from his install disc.

As for the issue with installing Safari 3, it requires 10.4.9 or later. Is his system up to date?
