Safari won't launch?

I am trying to launch Safari like usual by double clicking the icon in the task bar. It bounces and the Safari app appears briefly and then closes or never fully launches or crashes? I don't get any error report saying Safari has shut down. I can't reset Safari since it won't launch. I will try to trash prefs and see what happens. Any other ideas?

See whether the problem occurs in a new user account, and/or try repairing permissions.

Permissions did the trick

The trouble was only happening in one of three accounts so I repaired permissions and that did the trick.
