I just recently updated my Snow Leopard on my Macbook Pro and now Safari won't load certain pages. If I use Firefox everything will load fine. If I log in as a Guest user Safari will work fine. The issue is only limited to my own personal log in. Any ideas? Safari was working fine prior to the update.

Try resetting Safari, clearing your cookies and cache. Also try disabling all extensions.

Also, disable any ad-blockers. If you haven't already done so, try changing your DNS servers on your Mac and your router to OpenDNS servers. This will show you how: Why am I being redirected to other sites?

You might also check your /etc/hosts file, to make sure it's not corrupted.

What sites are you having problems with?

I am actually basically having issues with all sites not loading other than say youtube.com

I've disabled the pop ups under systems and added the OpenDNS servers, but the issue is still there. Nothing has changed.

@Don Nguyen:
If you use Little Snitch:
1. Uninstall LS.
2. Restart your Mac.
3. Install LS.
4. Repair the permissions for the startup disk with Disk Utility.
5. Restart your Mac.

Interesting. I didn't think about that. I do have little snitch. I ended up just creating a new admin/user account and copying all of my preferences over. I was tired of trying to chase a problem that seemed like it would have taken too long to try and figure out.
