Safari x Gmail

My Gmail doesn't work well with Safari, mainly slow connections.

Anyone else experiences this trouble?

My suggestion is to set up Gmail with mail.app, that's what I did.

i tried doing this. Mostly so when i read email on my iPhone i dont have to re-read it when i come back to my Mac. It just never worked for me. Once i read it on the iPhone, it stays unread on the mac. Its horrible!

Sounds like you have it set up as POP3.

If you have it set up as IMAP then it will be in sync.

Not necessarily. I have my gmail account setup as IMAP and reading an email on the web or iphone won't mark the email as read, if the program is already running. Selecting "get mail" or "synchronize gmail" doesn't work. Oddly enough, closing Mail and re-opening it does...
