Ever since I have gotten my Mac (over a year), I have noticed that Yahoo! Mail and Safari do not mix. When launching Yahoo! Mail on Safari 4.0.4, it freezes and sometimes crashes Safari. When I am browsing another site and want to open Yahoo! Mail in a new tab, it will automatically switch to Yahoo! Mail instead of keeping me on my current tab and just opening. I have tried this with Firefox 3.6b5 and it works perfectly normal. Why does Safari not like Yahoo! Mail? Any fixes for these issues? Thanks.

Safari 4.0.4 works just fine with Yahoo! Mail for me. Perhaps, you should give a little more information about your setup.

Late 2008 Aluminum 2.4GHz MacBook 2GB RAM 250GB Hard Drive
Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.2 with ALL updates applied
Safari version 4.0.4 64-bit

Is anything else needed?

I have tried resetting Safari and removing the com.apple.Safari.plist file from ~/Library/Preferences.
