I just have had this problem recently, just appeared. In safari, youtube shows up as a black box. When its embedded in a site or on the youtube users channel, it works fine. Its just shows up with a black box when I am on the video url.

Please help. I live for youtube!!!

Run Safari in 32 Bits mode. Go to Applications, select Safari.app and hit Command+I, then click on "Open in 32-bits mode"

I "think" it is related to Flash not running in 64 bits?
