Has anyone ever seen Safri shut down auotmaticly while trying to download anything?

For some reason Safari keeps quitting, once the download is about to be completed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

wel....

I'm not sure how to fix it, but in the mean time, Camino is the 2nd best browser on the mac. It's free, and based on firefox, but much faster and "MAC-Y" go download Camino, form mozilla

i find safari 3 quite buggy and occasionaly crashes on me when ive got multiple tabs open(about 20) and when im downloading files too

I've had crashes when downloading files especially PDF's. It does not happen frequently, but enough that it is a bit of a problem. I use Firefox as well, but find that it's not as fast as Safari's last release.

I appreciate all of your insight.

I have had this happen to me before it's really weird. I tried downloading another browser as well and it quits on me trying to do that.

It first started when I tried to download acrobat reader because for some reason I don't have Adobe Acrobat (to create PDFs).

I don't know why but it did not load on my mac when I loaded my CS2 programs.

I will try to find away to get a new browser on her.

Thanks again

The most annyoing time for safari to crash is when you have 5 tabs open and dont remember which pages were open. Gotta go to the history to find the recent pages to reopen them.

I succesfully downloaded a version of Camino.

However, I can't open anything to install it on my mac.

I think I have a bug!!

Ahhh

it sometimes crashes, yes, but it still much better than camino IMO
Camino should be apple style, but it's so firefoxy

Having multible browsers usally gives you work around for most poblems. Doesent work here it works on the other browser. Or vice versa.

Drag the application to your hard drive or your Applications folder. Installed.

I tried to install application however, I can't even open it to install it.

I dragged application which has a label/tag of .dmg into the applications but this is not helping.

Any other thoughts?

The .dmg is just a disk image that needs to be opened first (double clicking it) - but if it isn't opening as you are saying then it's probably a corrupt image file.
Try downloading it again, and if you still have problems, try selecting a new download location, and if you still have problems then you know that safari is f'd up.
Try those things and post again.

I actually haven't been able to successfully download anything from my mac (safari).

I have been using a PC and dragging it over to my mac.

When I try downloading the download has about a 1/4 of the way to go and then Safari quits on me.

I am guessing my Safari is F"D like you are suggesting.
