does anyone know how to, if you can, block/disable that severely annoying "are you sure you want perform a post operation, You may lose etc blah" box that stops you dead when you are trying do go back a page by clicking the upper left hand back arrow in Safari?

OF COURSE I AM -or I wouldnt have clicked the back arrow now, would I?

Pretty hard to click that accidently

I have no idea what you're talking about.
edit: Oh, you are responding to the prompt.

Well, for one, it can be accidentally activated - for example on new macbooks the three finger swipe gesture is to go back.

Secondly, it's only supposed to do that if you have a form that is filled by you. It's more the website than safari.

no -every time i try to go back a page-i get that warning
and no-it seems to have nothing to do with ordering things

I have an iMac-so i dont think i can accidently cause it-its after a purposefull click of the BACK arrow

Then something is messed up for you.
Safari is fine for me. And everyone else for that matter.
