Safari 5 has been great so far for me, speedy, great extensions already and though a bit crashy, it's been great overall.

But, I've been having a big problem since Safari 4. My tabs aren't colored properly (sometimes they are, sometimes they'll go whacky) this means I have no idea what tab I'm in, and it's very annoying.

Apple never fixed it through an update, but I hoped Safari 5 addressed it. No luck, it was for awhile, now it's back!

See the above picture. They're just randomly colored.

How do I fix this? :(

I don't know. I just use Camino as my web browser. To me it looks like safari was just styled that way. Notice the pattern: Dark, Light, Dark, Light, Dark...

You are offering incorrect info since you don't use Safari. The OP seems to be having some kind of bug or problem. It looks like Safari is confused and keeping a downloading tab "open" when you switch tabs. All background tabs should be dark and only the current (just one) foreground (or active) tab should be light.
