iPod Safe to delete IPSW files?

Is it safe to delete the contents of the "C:\Documents and Settings\MY_USER\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates" folder? This folder contains nearly 400MB of files and as I'm running quite low on space on my c:\ I need to free space somewhere.
