Is it safe to disable the iTunesHelper process in OS X? I haven't seen any error messages in the Console. I don't need it running on my laptop because I sync my phone to my desktop.

By the way, if you want to disable it, right click on iTunes -> Show Package Contents -> Contents -> MacOS and rename iTunesHelper to something like "iTunesHelper-disable." Make sure to get rid of it in the login items for your account, too. Use the minus sign instead of the checkbox to delete it from login items.
