In regards to this recent story by Engadget (and also numerous threads on this forum about this situation) http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/06/are-some-apple-time-capsules-locking-themselves-up-for-good/
Would it be a wise choice to purchase a Time Capsule right now, or should I wait until it's in the clear that Apple has addressed this issue?
I've heard people say they've had better luck by adding a fan to the time capsule (which I think is absolutely ridiculous when I will be paying over $300 for the product.)
Also found this article about replacing the hard drive with something like:

If I were to go that route, I would just buy a smaller capacity Time Capsule off ebay or something and then purchase a 2TB drive from Western Digital.
I already have a 1TB G-Drive Q, but it's almost full and would like to just dump everything including my iTunes library onto my Time Capsule.
Also I would not be eligible for AppleCare because I haven't bought a new mac recently- so would have to purchase a new applecare for the TC.
What do you guys think?
