Hi

I know Sparsebundles do some clever linking for files called hard linking or something. What I'm wondering is, if I transfer one over SSH (where it splits it up into many tiny parts), will these links still work when moved back from the server I'm sending to to a Mac drive, or will the Sparsebundle have corrupted?

Thanks,

Sam

Best/easiest solution would be to compress the .sparsebundle file before you transfer it through ssh.
A xxx.sparsebundle file is actually not a file, but a folder. You can right click on the .sparsebundle "file" and select "Show Package Contents". In this way you see the real files behind the .sparsebundle "file".
So to put these files securely together for a transfer compress it first.
