I was about to update my touch to iOS 5, but got a warning stating that apps, and media would be erased on the device when doing this. Does this mean that the music contained will be erased as well? This has me worried since a lot of the music files I have were from another pc that recently died a few months ago. It's a 64gb size, so loosing that much music would not be good...

I recently picked up an iPhone 4S, and I love the new iOS, but I'm hesitant to load it onto the touch. It's not jailbroken or anything like that either as well.

It does completely erase your iPod touch, but will automatically resync all your files that were on it on iOS 4 after updating. It's like it never deleted itself. Make sure you do the update on the computer where your music/movies/apps are located.
