Please excuse my ignorance when it comes to how exactly DiskWarrior works (and what it actually does!
), but I was just wondering if it's safe to use the most recent version of the application on a Leopard install? To clarify: whenever I have to install OS X, I normally do a clean install, reinstall all my apps, and then boot from the DiskWarrior CD and let it graph and defrag the disk.
I'm a little hesitant to do the same this time, because I remember reading something about the DiskWarrior CD containing a slimmed down version of OS X (presumably 10.4.x) which it uses to boot from - and was concerned whether any differences between that version of the OS and Leopard may inadvertently cause damage to the Leopard install.
Has anyone out there already used DiskWarrior on their Leopard system (in the manner described above)? Or, if anyone with knowledge in this area could offer any advice, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!
